Local SEO Digital Marketing Plan

Attract more online leads than your competitors

Submitting a Yahoo Local Business Listing

Yahoo gave up on its local business listings years ago. They essentially sold out to make money off anyone wanting to get or modify their listing by becoming an effective affiliate for Yext. Businesses wanting to claim a listing are routed through Yext to “check” all listings, warn them of all the errors, then urge them to pay for Yext to update listings everywhere.

There is still an avenue to claim a basic Yahoo listing through Yext.

Visit this page: https://www.yext.com/pl/yahoo-listings/index.html

Add your business listing information and click “continue.”  This will bring you to a new page with pricing options for different levels of service.  Go to the bottom of that page to click on the “Claim Your Basic Listing on Yahoo only” link.

Fill out the required fields with your business info and submit.

Go to the email address you entered to verify the account and Yext will have you create a password.

The result is a very nice Yext platform to edit your listing.

Opt-in to Yahoo

Make sure you go to the right sidebar to “Opt-in” to the Yahoo Local Business directory.

You will then need to verify the listing by answering a phone call to get a code to enter back into the platform.

Yext states several times in the process that they don’t guarantee the inclusion of the listing in Yahoo, so we recommend paying attention to the listing to see if it shows up correctly.
